Explosive • Control focused • Forgiving
The Bullpadel Vertex 05 is the Vertex series flagship and Juan Tello 'El Gato's racket on the World Padel Tour. It is a power diamond, but not the purest power in its class. The Vertex 05 is designed for experienced attackers seeking maximum attacking force combined with usable defensive play.
The Bullpadel Vertex 05 weighs 365–375g, has a diamond shape and balance of around 254mm. Its playing surface is 530 cm² and profile 38mm. The face is X-Tend Carbon 12K; the core is triple-density Multieva, three foam zones with increasing density from edge to center.
The distinguishing feature versus the Head Extreme Pro and other power diamonds is Custom Weight: an adjustable +12g weight built into the frame. Players can adapt balance character to their playing style, a rare feature in this price segment.
Note: Bullpadel lists balance as "≈ 25.4" without a unit. This is interpreted as 25.4cm = 254mm measured from the handle. Verify before purchasing.
The Vertex 05's power is this review's most unambiguous finding: 10/10, the absolute maximum in Julien Seurin's testing framework. Not as an exception for a power racket, but confirmation of its profile. Overhead shots, viboras, smashes: the racket generates momentum on every well-timed attacking ball.
The surprise is the breadth of its profile. Control is 8/10, higher than expected from a diamond with 10/10 power. The triple-density Multieva core accounts for this: the power center gives explosiveness, while the softer edge zone enlarges the effective sweetspot and reduces lost control on off-centre contact. Tolerance (sweetspot) is 8/10, generous for a power diamond.
Versatility distinguishes the Vertex 05 from the Hack 03. It is described as the most balanced model in the Vertex range: better in defense and transitions than the Hack 03 without sacrificing attacking force. That makes this a racket for attackers who also hit back, rather than one-dimensional attacking players.
Comfort is 7/10, acceptable for the category. The carbon face is stiff; the Multieva core cushions somewhat but does not fully remove its sharpness. Ease Vibe and Hesacore dampen vibrations, but this remains a stiff racket with firm contact feel. Players sensitive to hard contact or vibrations should take this into account.
The Vertex 05 is intended for experienced-to-expert attacking players at KNLTB 3–5. You need an attacking style centered on overhead shots and smashes. Its weight (365–375g) requires a physical foundation; beginners and players with arm discomfort are better served by a lighter teardrop racket.
The Hack 03 is Bullpadel's purest power racket, with a stiffer frame and maximum explosiveness but less defensive flexibility. The Vertex 05 is more versatile: comparable power (10/10), but better control (8 vs. 7), a larger sweetspot (8 vs. 6) and more defensive comfort. Choose the Hack 03 if pure attacking potential is the only criterion; choose the Vertex 05 if versatility also matters.
The Bullpadel Vertex 05 weighs 365–375 grams. This is heavier than most teardrop alternatives in the same segment. Custom Weight can adjust weight by a maximum of +12g. Test the racket before purchasing if possible; weight is a significant factor not everyone finds comfortable.
Bullpadel's Custom Weight system is an adjustable +12g weight element built into the Vertex 05 frame. Players can add or remove weight to adapt the racket's balance character to their playing style. This rare feature in its price segment makes the Vertex 05 more flexible than comparable power diamonds.
Not particularly. Its carbon face gives a stiffer feel (comfort 7/10), and 365–375g may cause arm fatigue in sensitive players. The triple-density Multieva core and Ease Vibe system provide some vibration damping, but this is not a comfort racket. For arm or elbow discomfort, we recommend a lighter teardrop alternative.
Advantages
Maximum power, 10/10, comparable with the best power rackets on the market
Generous sweetspot for a diamond, triple-density Multieva enlarges the tolerance zone (8/10)
Custom Weight system (+12g), a rare feature giving players control over balance character
Surprisingly good control for a power diamond, 8/10
Considerations
365–375g is a weight threshold, heavier than teardrop alternatives in the same segment
Carbon face gives a stiffer feel than the core suggests, comfort 7/10, not an arm-friendly racket
Forgiveness limited by diamond shape, requiring technical precision on overhead shots
What you will notice as a player
The smash gets plenty of easy power; you do not need a full follow-through to put the ball away.
A balanced racket that responds predictably in most situations.
No pronounced weakness, but no single shot where the racket particularly stands out either.
Which shots are affected most?
| Situation | What will you notice? |
|---|---|
| Defense | Reasonable: a calm swing returns most balls off the glass. |
| Volley | Comfortable and stable; aiming is easy and you keep the ball low. |
| Bandeja | Very easy to control: the ball stays low and predictable, ideal for controlling the court. |
| Vibora | Enough bite for a quick brushing shot with some acceleration of your own. |
| Smash | Its strongest point: maximum power with little effort, sending the ball away like a rocket. |
| Block | Stable: the racket is ready in time and returns the ball with control. |
| Off-center ball | Reasonably forgiving: outside the sweet spot you lose some speed, while accuracy is largely maintained. |
