Royal Padel is one of the oldest padel brands in the world (founded 1991, Barcelona), and the M27 is its iconic flagship, in production for 30+ years. The Light version is 350-365g with medium/low balance: the lightest and most arm-friendly M27 model. Control 9/10, manoeuvrability 9/10, for control-focused players who want to play comfortably for longer.

Round shape, 350-365g, medium/low balance, 38mm profile. 3K carbon face with Core Tech surface treatment, Soft High-Density Polyethylene core, 3K carbon frame with Hexcel Twill aerospace reinforcements.

The Light is 15g lighter and designed around comfort and manoeuvrability. That difference is deliberate: the racket is specifically positioned for women and players seeking a soft, cushioned contact feel. Royal Padel explicitly names Shock Absorption technology as a feature for vibration damping.

Technologies:

  • Shock Absorption, vibration-absorption system that dampens shocks in the grip
  • Core Tech, surface treatment for better ball control
  • 3K Carbon, both face and frame for stiffness and weight savings
  • Hexcel Twill, aerospace carbon reinforcement in the frame
  • Double bidirectional tubular frame, structural stability

Manoeuvrability is 9/10 in our estimate. An external review of the M27 Light 2024 gives 8.7 on this dimension. This is information about the predecessor, not a direct test of the 2025 version. Medium/low balance places the centre of gravity closer to the handle and fits a manoeuvrable profile.

Control is 9/10 in our estimate. Comparable round M27 models, the LTD 2024 and R Control 2024, receive 9/10 for control; the external review of the M27 Light 2024 gives 8.5. These earlier models provide context for placement and direction but do not confirm a direct test result for the M27 Light 2025.

Comfort is 8/10 in our estimate based on the soft Soft High-Density Polyethylene core and Shock Absorption system. The manufacturer describes that system as focused on vibration damping. The manufacturer claim below concerns the design goal, not demonstrated injury protection or a playing test of our own.

Power is 7/10. The round shape and soft core suit placement and defence, not maximum shot power. Defence is 9/10 in our estimate, based on control 9, manoeuvrability 9 and the round shape. This is not a directly measured score for the 2025 version.

Royal Padel is a Spanish padel brand founded in 1991 in Barcelona, one of the oldest padel brands in the world. The M27 is its iconic flagship line, in production for more than 30 years. The name M27 has no officially documented meaning; it is simply the historical model name. The M27 stands for control and consistency, not brute force.

The M27 Light is the lighter version (350-365g vs 360-380g for the Poly) with a more arm-friendly low/medium balance. The Poly is heavier and more suited to male and stronger players. The Light is specifically positioned for women and players with arm or elbow complaints.

The M27 Light is primarily suitable for players with some to extensive experience. Beginners can practise well with it, as the round shape and soft core are forgiving, but the price (€250-€350) is high for a first racket. A cheaper entry model is recommended for beginners.

What will you notice on court?

What you will notice as a player

At the net you react very quickly: blocks and fast volleys feel almost effortless.

You place the ball very precisely; controlling rallies, playing cross-court and finding the corners feels predictable.

The racket helps in defense: a calm swing sends balls off the glass deep again.

The sweet spot offers forgiveness: slightly imperfect contact loses little accuracy.

The smash gets no easy power; depth and speed must come from your own follow-through.

No pronounced weakness, but no single shot where the racket particularly stands out either.

Which shots are affected most?

SituationWhat will you notice?
DefensePlenty of help: the low balance and generous sweet spot return balls off the glass calmly and deep.
VolleyCrisp and agile: aiming feels effortless and late adjustments remain possible.
BandejaVery easy to control: the ball stays low and predictable, ideal for controlling the court.
ViboraIt works, but speed and bite must mostly come from your own technique.
SmashSolid rather than explosive: depth and speed need your own follow-through.
BlockA strong point: the racket is ready very quickly and returns the ball with control.
Off-center ballForgiving: just outside the sweet spot you lose little and the ball stays on course.
