Control focused • Comfortable • Forgiving
The Wilson Bela LT (Light Touch) V2.5 is the most accessible model in Fernando Belasteguín’s signature line. With Soft EVA core, teardrop shape and medium balance, it is the opposite of Bela Pro: large sweet spot, high comfort, medium power. A racket for players prioritising versatility.
The Wilson Bela LT V2.5 weighs 355–365g, teardrop shape, medium balance. Profile 38mm. Face: Carbon Fiber. Core: Soft EVA. Frame: Carbon.
Wilson Bela line 2025:
| Model | Core | Balance | Sweet spot | Comfort | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bela LT V2.5 | Soft EVA | Medium | 9/10 | 8/10 | Some experience, comfort-focused |
| Bela V3 2025 | EVA | Medium | 8/10 | 7/10 | Experienced allround |
| Bela Pro V3 | Hard EVA | High | 7/10 | 6/10 | Expert attacker |
LT stands for “Light Touch”: Soft EVA and medium balance for maximum sweet spot and comfort. Bela LT is not for players prioritising power above everything.
Technologies:
- Soft EVA, the softest core variant in the Wilson padel line; maximum vibration damping
- Spin Effect Texture, surface texture for active spin potential
- Sharp Hole Technology, sharp edge finishing on the string holes
- Shock Shield Grip, anti-vibration grip for extra cushioning at impact
- Double-Wing Bridge, bridge construction in the frame for stability
Sweet spot 9/10 is the definitive score. Soft EVA plus medium balance plus teardrop shape is a proven combination for maximum sweet-spot size. Off-centre contact is barely penalised: the core absorbs energy and gives the ball an acceptable response, even near the edges.
Comfort 8/10. Soft EVA is the most cushioning core in the standard Wilson line. For players seeking soft, damped contact feel, this racket scores considerably better than hard EVA variants or carbon-face models.
Power is 7/10: the price of Soft EVA and medium balance. Smash and explosive overheads are less sharp than with power diamonds. Players mainly attacking from the net and wanting considerable power from their swing will find this racket limited.
Carbon Fiber face is less specifically described than 12K/18K carbon: Wilson has not published the exact fibre count. In practice, response feels slightly less sharply defined than Adidas Metalbone or Nox AT10 variants.
LT V2.5 has Soft EVA (softer) and medium balance for maximum sweet spot and comfort. Bela V3 has a slightly stiffer core and slightly higher balance for more power. LT is for players wanting comfort and a large sweet spot; V3 for players needing more attacking options.
Yes, it is one of the better choices in this segment for tennis elbow. Soft EVA core, teardrop shape (lower balance than diamond) and medium balance reduce shock loading on every shot. Comfort 8/10. Combine with a good grip and overgrip for optimal cushioning.
Advantages
Soft EVA + teardrop shape + medium balance = exceptionally large sweet spot (9/10) and high forgiveness
Lightweight (355g base) for a carbon teardrop, good manoeuvrability
Spin Effect Texture for active spin potential on slice shots
Comfort 8, ideal for players with tennis elbow complaints or arm sensitivity
Considerations
Less power than Bela Pro or Bela V3 (7 vs. 8–9)
Carbon Fiber face is less premium than 12K/18K variants in this price class
LT = Light Touch, for players prioritising comfort over power; not for power seekers
What you will notice as a player
At the net you react very quickly: blocks and fast volleys feel almost effortless.
The racket helps in defense: a calm swing sends balls off the glass deep again.
The sweet spot offers forgiveness: slightly imperfect contact loses little accuracy.
Comfortable in long matches: the racket cushions contact well, with little feedback in your arm.
No pronounced weakness, but no single shot where the racket particularly stands out either.
Which shots are affected most?
| Situation | What will you notice? |
|---|---|
| Defense | Plenty of help: the low balance and generous sweet spot return balls off the glass calmly and deep. |
| Volley | Crisp and agile: aiming feels effortless and late adjustments remain possible. |
| Bandeja | Very easy to control: the ball stays low and predictable, ideal for controlling the court. |
| Vibora | Enough bite for a quick brushing shot with some acceleration of your own. |
| Smash | Enough power, but you still need to put considerable effort into the swing. |
| Block | A strong point: the racket is ready very quickly and returns the ball with control. |
| Off-center ball | Forgiving: just outside the sweet spot you lose little and the ball stays on course. |
