Juan Lebrón plays on the Premier Padel Tour with Babolat Viper; his personal model has a 3K carbon face. Technical Viper 2025 (internally: 2.5) is the more accessible model with the same DNA: 12K carbon rather than 3K, same diamond shape, high balance and attacking focus. Several independent test reports agree: this is the most powerful racket in its class.

The Babolat Technical Viper 2025 (internally: 2.5) weighs 365g (±10g) and has a diamond shape with high 270mm balance. Profile is 38mm. The face is 12K carbon with 3D Spin+ treatment, combining an embossed relief pattern and extra-rough finish for spin potential on slice shots and viboras.

The core is X-EVA: three-layer construction with two stiffer outer layers for power generation and a soft inner layer for shock absorption. Vibrasorb System² integrates elastomer dampers into the carbon fibres of core and handle. This partly compensates for hardness, but fundamentally this is a stiff, hard, demanding racket.

Lebrón distinction: Viper Juan Lebrón 2025 (SKU 150158) has a 3K carbon face, weighs 370g and costs around €265. Standard Technical Viper 2025 (SKU 150159) has harder, stiffer 12K carbon. Two related but different rackets.

Power is the starting point. Several independent sources score power in the 9.2–10 range, one of the strongest power consensuses in its segment. On overheads, smashes and viboras, this racket delivers the maximum 12K carbon at 270mm balance can generate.

Attacking capability is at the maximum. It invites cannon-like shots on balls above shoulder height. Net play (9.0/10) and vibora (9.0/10) follow closely. This is where Technical Viper delivers its maximum value: in attack, above shoulder height, on the left side.

Sweet spot (7/10) and defence (5/10) are its honest limits. Unsurprising for a purely attacking racket, they follow directly from design choices. Diamond shape, high balance and stiff X-EVA outer layers are optimised for attacking power, not tolerance. Off-centre balls feel dry; lobs are a risk.

Spin is more nuanced than the two extremes suggest. 3D Spin+ is strong on viboras and slice attacks (slice-type spin), less on heavy topspin. Players using vibora as a primary weapon benefit from it.

Comfort is 7/10. Vibrasorb System² offers vibration damping but does not remove the hardness of the stiff 12K construction. Long sessions carry a risk of arm fatigue because of stiffness. This racket requires good arm conditioning.

For experienced to expert attacking players at KNLTB 3–4 playing on the left with smash and vibora as primary weapons. It requires technically skilled, consistent shots: small sweet spot (7/10) and stiff core demand more than most power diamonds. Beginners, defensive players and arm-sensitive players are better served by a more accessible profile.

Technical Viper 2025 (SKU 150159) has a 12K carbon face, weighs 365g and costs around €185–€195 at outlet prices. Viper Juan Lebrón 2025 (SKU 150158) is Lebrón’s personal racket: 3K carbon face, 370g, white colour scheme, costing around €265. Its 3K carbon plays softer and more elastically than the standard model’s 12K carbon. Technical Viper is the more accessible model with the same attacking DNA.

Technical Viper 3.0 (2026) is a substantial redesign, not a small update. It has 3K (not 12K) carbon faces, a Carbon Power Layer integrated into the core and a new Dynamic Stability System. Playing character differs. At current price, 2025 (2.5) is a strong buying argument if its 12K carbon feel suits you. The 3.0 costs around €275, with more modern technology but also a different, softer playing feel through its 3K face.

No. Stiff X-EVA outer layers and 12K carbon face are hard; comfort is 7/10. Long sessions carry a risk of arm fatigue through stiff construction. Vibrasorb System² offers some vibration damping but does not sufficiently compensate for players with arm or elbow complaints. For arm-sensitive players, we recommend Head Gravity Motion, Wilson Bela V3 or Head Extreme Team.

3D Spin+ is Babolat’s combination of an embossed relief pattern and extra-rough 12K carbon face finish. This provides more grip on slice shots, viboras and bandejas. Reviewers give spin 8.7–9/10 based on texture. Measured topspin production (5.0/10) is average: the system is strong for slice-type spin, less for heavy roll.

Advantages & considerations

Advantages

Power 10/10, maximum score in its class

Overhead 10/10, ideal for overhead attacks and killshots

3D Spin+ surface, good for viboras and slice attacks (9/10 spin potential)

Control 8/10, solid for a power diamond; not just explosive but also controllable

At current price €185–€195, a strong buying argument for KNLTB 3–4 attackers

Considerations

Sweet spot 7/10, high but narrow; off-centre balls give a “dry” feel

Defence 5/10, this racket is not designed for defensive play; lobs are a risk

Arm loading, X-EVA stiff outer layers + 12K carbon; risk of fatigue in long sessions

Technical Viper 3.0 (2026) is already available for around €275, affecting the buying decision

What will you notice on court?

What you will notice as a player

The smash gets plenty of easy power; you do not need a full follow-through to put the ball away.

A balanced racket that responds predictably in most situations.

Off-center contact is penalized: hitting just outside the sweet spot loses power and control.

The racket offers little help in defense; returning balls off the glass takes considerable effort.

At the net you react a little more slowly: the weight sits forward, so quick adjustments take more effort.

Which shots are affected most?

SituationWhat will you notice?
DefenseLittle help: you must guide balls off the glass and keep them deep yourself.
VolleyComfortable and stable; aiming is easy and you keep the ball low.
BandejaVery easy to control: the ball stays low and predictable, ideal for controlling the court.
ViboraVery explosive: plenty of speed and bite, a natural shot for this racket.
SmashIts strongest point: maximum power with little effort, sending the ball away like a rocket.
BlockThe forward weight makes quick blocks more demanding than with an agile racket.
Off-center ballUnforgiving: outside the sweet spot, both speed and accuracy drop noticeably.
